Self Care with Emilie: Winter Skin care

It’s the time to celebrate and spoil the ones we love.

 Winter is right around the corner and the Holiday season is coming faster than we think. But during this busy (and cold) season don’t forget to “treat yo self” and your skin! Here are a few of my favorite skincare products to keep my skin soft, glowing and hydrated during the winter months. 

1.) Amethyst Exfoliating Body Polish by Herbivore

This body polish is my new skincare best friend. It’s made out of crushed amethyst gemstone, magnesium-rich salt, and ultra-hydrating organic virgin coconut oil. It leaves my skin feeling polished, moisturized and smelling like heavenly jasmine. I love using it before I shave or if my skin just needs a little extra TLC. It is on the pricier side of things at $44, but if you want to feel luxurious than this is the product for you!

2.) Rejuvenating Facial Avocado Oil by Pearlessence

I’m going to be upfront, I found this facial oil at my local Marshalls. I was hesitant about purchasing it to begin with, but boy am I glad I did. It contains avocado oil and vitamin E. I use this hydrating oil on my face and neck, sometimes under my daily moisturizer. A little goes a long way, and because contains a fragrance I would ask people with sensitive skin to be cautious while using this. I personally haven’t had any issues and I love the fresh smell. This product is a lot more price friendly at just $6. You feel boujee without burning a hole in your pocket.

3.) Lip Sleeping Mask by LANEIGE

A lot of people forget just how important it is to take care of your lips; so do yourself a favor and pick up this magical overnight lip mask. I’m not going to lie, I use this product all year long. I love the idea of being able to put on this mask, go to bed and wake up with soft, plump, kissable lips! It’s packed with strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, and cranberry extracts! All of which are high in vitamin C and if you were guessing it smells like fresh berries you are absolutely right! This product is perfect for bringing your dry lips back to life or even doing a little extra something before a date night. It will however set you back $20, which is kind of expensive for a lip treatment, but a little goes a long way and this little miracle jar lasts me for months.

4.) Blue Raspberry Sucker Velour Lip Scrub by Jeffree Star Cosmetics

Last, but not least, on the list is this delicious sugar based lip scrub (yes your lips can be exfoliated too). I freaking love this stuff, it smells so good that it’s tempting to eat it haha. I swear by this stuff. I have even bought my mother and my sister their very own lip scrub! There are tons of different flavors, so if Blue Raspberry isn’t your thing- have no fear. I love that this product is paraben free, vegan and 100% cruelty-free. I use this scrub right before I apply lipstick for a night out or if I’m needing to get rid of some dead skin. It always does the trick! This colorful jar will cost you $12.
